Lesley Prather was Superwoman! She excelled as a firefighter in a profession that historically has been dominated by men. We have partnered with the Louisville Fire Department to host a four day "Girls Empowerment Camp" from June 13-16th at the Louisville Fire Training Academy. The camp participants will consist of 20-25 middle school aged girls from the Louisville area. The participants will be exposed to the numerous careers that exist within the fire and fire service profession. Led by female instructors who have or currently works in the fire service profession, these girls will be exposed to a World they may have thought never existed before. Lesley never compared herself to "the girls," she wanted to beat everyone at everything. We hope that through this exposure, these girls will gain confidence, become CPR certified and maybe even one day start a career in the fire service profession.
